Killarney TTA Summer Holidays
There will be NO CLASSES for Killarney students from Mon 22nd August to Wed 7th September, the club is closing for a short break to allow students to relax before their school year restarts. Training will resume as normal on Monday 12th September at 7pm. If you have any queries please contact your instructor.

4th Irish Sparring Course
Grandmaster Loh will be holding the 4th Irish Sparring Course on 20/21st August in the Killarney Sports & Lesire Centre. Students from Scotland and England will be in attendance giving you the opportunity to come and train with our extended TTA family. The 2 day course is open to all about GREEN belt and will be hugely beneficial to students wishing to progress in their taekwondo career. Numbers for this course are required ASAP –please contact your instructors for more information.

Killarney TTA Instructor heads to World Championships 2011
On behalf of all students and instructors of the Irish TTA I would like to wish chief instructor Bobby Enright (3rd Dan) of Killarney TTA, the very best of luck for next weeks World Taekwondo Championships. The tournament to be held in historic Gyeongju, South Korea will see approximately 3,000 athletes from 150 countries across the world compete against each other in the games which take place from 1-6th May. Instructor Enright will represent the Irish national team at -80Kg on May 2nd. Sir, your TTA family back home is cheering you on every step of the way - GO IRELAND!!

British Open Team Championships
Congratulations to all students who travelled to Glasgow,Scotland for the 24th British Open Team Championships last weekend. The Killarney club would especially like to thank junior black belt students Kevin Brosnan and David Murphy who helped out on the day. Thanks must also be extended to the the parents who travelled for their great support and of course most importantly to Grandmaster Loh for hosting another fantastic competition. Watch this website for news on the Individual Championships to be held later this year!

March Grading and Seminar
The next grading will take place on Saturday 12th March at the Killarney Sport & Leisure Centre, Park Road, Killarney. Please note only students selected for grading are required to be present in the hall for 10.00am sharp.
Grandmaster Loh will also be giving a seminar from 12.30-3.30pm approx on Saturday 12th March which is open to all students above yellow belt level. Those wishing to attend should contact their instructors for further details and submit registration.

Students of the Year 2010
The 2010 Killarney TTA student of the year trophies were awarded to James Kennelly (junior grade) and Batt Brosnan (senior grade). These awards are given in recognition of students upholding the five tenents of taekwondo courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. The successful students have also shown a good record of attendance, impeccable etiquette and a positive attitude towards training and others. Congratulation boys in setting a good example to your fellow students!

Christmas Holidays
Killarney TTA will be taking their annual Christmas holidays from Wednesday 15th December (last class of the year). Chief Instructor Bobby Enright would like to take this opportunity to wish all students and parents a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Classes will resume from Monday 17th January 2011 at the usual times - we look forward to seeing you all for some more hard training in the new year! November Grading News
The final grading of the year was held last weekend when Grandmaster Loh visited Ireland- congratulations to all students successful in progressing forward. A special congratulations is extended to Killarney TTA's newest junior black belts - brothers Jonas and Benjamin Lyne. Benjamin now becomes the youngest junior black belt in Ireland and both set a good example to others as to what can be achieved with hard work, dedication, perserverance and an indomitable spirit.

British Open Championships
Congratulations to all students who travelled last weekend to Glasgow, Scotland to compete in the British Open Championships. Killarney TTA were proud to bring home 7 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals plus a team spirit trophy. Kenmare TTA also returned with 2 bronze medals. The tournament was attended by all clubs within Grandmaster Lohs Traditional Taekwondo Association - a opportunity for students to test their sparring techniques, poomse and even officiating skills. Many thanks to Grandmaster Loh for yet another fantastic games and also thanks to the coaches and parents who helped make this trip possible. The Irish TTA will be looking forward to next years competitions!

Tralee TTA
The Irish TTA are pleased to announce the opening of their 5th club in the Kerry area - Tralee TTA. Instructor Christy Enright (1st Dan, of Killarney TTA) will hold classes for adults and children (aged 5 upwards) in Austin Stacks GAA Clubhouse Pavillion, Connolly Park, Tralee - see the Irish TTA Clubs page for class times. New members are most welcome - come and try our Olympic style martial art, bring your friends!

November Champsionships - Glasgow
Entry time for the 27th TTA British Championships has now drawn to a close with entry forms having been submitted. Students please ensure you have all protective equipment to meet safety requirements, if not you can order these from your instructor and should do so immediately. Please be mindful of your weight from now till the competition - weights have been submitted and changes to weight categories can not be made from this point onwards. Killarney TTA students and parents travelling to Scotland are kindly asked to attend a team meeting on Wednesday 3rd November at 9pm.

Good Luck To Killarney Instructor
The Irish TTA would like to wish Killarney instructor Bobby Enright (3rd Dan) all the best in his forthcoming international competitions. Bobby will represent Ireland in the world ranking British Open held this month and then the A-class Croatian Open in November. All the very best Sir, we'll be flying the flag for you!
