             TTA Ireland would like to congratulate its students who succesfully completed grading examinations last weekend - in particular  instructor of Listowel Taekwondo Club Timmy Madigan who was promoted to 3rd Dan.  Congratulations must also be extended to students Lisa Harrington and Eleanor Turner (both from the Kenmare Club) who were promoted to black belt and to Kevin Brosnan and David Murphy Killarney's new junior black belts.

 

Added 06-11-09                   Killarney Club has team spirit

            

             Last weekend TTA Ireland travelled to Glasgow, Scotland to compete in the British Open Championships.   20 students from the Killarney Taekwondo Club and 8 from the Kenmare Club made up what has been the biggest team to travel to the competiton to date.  Both clubs had a very successful trip with Kenmare bringing home 3 silver and 3 bronze medals and Killarney with 8 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze.  Killarney also won a team spirit cup and their instructor the best male player of the tournament.  Both clubs instructors would like to thank players, coaches and parents for all their hard work and support.

             As recently announced we regret to inform you we will be unable to return to our usual training venue (Aras Phadriag, Lewis Road) as intended - this is due to renovations not being completed in the scheduled time.  Please note from the 21st September we will be located in the new Aura Sports and Leisure Centre, Park Road Killarney.  Please also note to facilitate this relocation there will be a

change in training times:

Mon                   Beginner Kids              7-8pm                (main hall)

                          Senior Class                 8-9pm                (main hall)

 

Wed                   Beginner Adults          8-9pm                (main hall)

                          Senior Class                 9-10pm             (main hall)

 

Fri                      Squad Training             7-9pm                (main hall)

Added 24-08-2009                                           2nd Annual Sparring Course

 

The 2nd annual sparring course was held in Killarney's new sports centre and was attended by more than 50 students from UK and Ireland.  TTA Ireland would very much like to thank Grandmaster Loh for sharing his skills and time with us - it was a fantastic experience enjoyed by all!  For those of you who were unable to attend this year - watch this space for next years  course dates

 

 

Added 17-07-2009                                           NZ National Player visits Killarney

 

             Eleanor Currie, a New Zealand national team player came to train with the Killarney club this week while visiting Ireland.  Eleanor is currently staying in London while undertaking a round the world trip.  She hopes to return to Ireland to train with us again in the coming months.  The Killarney club would like to extend a big thank you to Eleanor and wish her all the best in her travels.  We look forward to seeing you again soon!

                       This month two Killarney students were successful in their Dan grade examinations.  Katie O’Reilly was promoted to 2nd Dan and James O’Connor from Junior Black Belt to1st Dan.   The Irish TTA clubs would like to congratulate you on your huge achievement.

4th April – Irish TTA Grading

19th April – TTA Team Championships, Glasgow, Scotland.

27th June – Irish TTA Grading

22-23rd August – 2nd Irish Sparring course

1st November – Individual TTA Championships, Glasgow.

14th November – Irish TTA Grading

 

             Championships in Scotland are open to all, yellow belt and above.  These championships give students an opportunity to test their skills, achieve their goals and compete against our extended TTA family.

 

 

 

Added 10-11-2008                                           TTA British Open Team Championships 2008

 

                          Congrats to Killarney, Kenmare and Listowel Taekwondo clubs who won 5 Gold medals and 8 Bronze medals at the 2008 British Open Team Taekwondo Chamionships. Congrats also to Killarney Taekwondo club who won the best team spirit trophy. Well done to all players and coaches who took part.

Added 13-09-2008                                 Sparring Seminar

 

                       TTA Ireland hosted its first sparring course in August which was attended by students from the Irish ,English and Scottish clubs. TTA Ireland would like to thank Grandmaster Loh for sharing his taekwondo knowledge with us— our students learned a great deal over the two day course which they are now putting into practice. Due to its success this is set to be an annual event so we look forward to seeing you all in Ireland next year!
